Our Story
Over a decade in UK energy, connectivity and data.
Jonathan Lishawa and Dr Gerd Busker co-founded Presciense in 2015. Jonathan brought commercial and telco experience from leading UK operators and consumer electronics. Gerd brought scientific and engineering depth from high-performance computing, nuclear energy and smart infrastructure. Together they built something neither could alone.
Their founding team drew on years of work across UK utilities, telcos and national energy infrastructure, people who already knew what it takes to make smart energy work at scale.
It shows in the results. Our technology is deployed with leading utilities and telcos across the UK, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The platform won the European Smart Energy Award. Our leadership sits on the bodies that govern the UK's smart energy infrastructure.
Today Presciense runs three practices, IoT Energy Technology, IoT Technology & Assisted Living, and Consultative Services, all built on a single modular agent. It's an integrated capability no single-discipline firm can match.
Jonathan Lishawa and Dr Gerd Busker co-found Presciense to unify smart energy and home automation on a standards-based IoT platform. Jonathan brings commercial, telco and utility expertise; Gerd brings the scientific and engineering depth.
Presciense trials In-Home Displays (IHDs) and Consumer Access Devices (CADs) with major UK operators. Smart metering and connectivity programmes launched at national scale.
Presciense wins the European Smart Energy Award.
Presciense agent technology adopted by Sercomm Corporation for their smart home and gateway solutions. Technology deployed across Europe. Machine learning added for demand forecasting and grid optimisation.
Presciense launches a unified Device Management Platform for fleet monitoring and control of IHD and CAD units. Development begins on next-generation Virtual WAN agent technology. Consultative Services combines regulatory and deployment experience with strategic energy advisory.
Platform extends to connected care with assisted living features. On-device AI integration using sub-1B parameter LLMs brings intelligent automation directly to the gateway, enabling real-time decision-making without cloud dependency.
